Bringing over 10 years of expertise, LiYana makes the complex actionable, while restoring hope, joy, respect and delight into relationships. LiYana Silver, CHC, RYT, MaNLP and Relationship Expert, teaches workshop intensives in New York and San Francisco as well as retreats in the Caribbean and abroad. Additionally, she has had a private practice for the past 9 years, coaching and counseling couples and individuals on relationships, sex, intimacy, communication and wellness. With her husband, Nathan, LiYana teaches a course for couples, the Pleasure Expansion Technique, a set of communication, energetic and physical practices for … you guessed it … unreasonable amounts of pleasure and enjoyment in relationships and intimacy.

LiYana writes a regular column for New York Spirit Magazine, “Enlightened Sex in the City” and has lectured, taught and lead retreats at NASDAQ, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the Golden Gate School of Feng Shui, the School of Visual Arts, St. John’s College, Marymount Manhattan, Baruch College, the Atlantic Theatre Company, Clearpoint Retreat Center, Montezuma Yoga Retreat Center and The Juilliard School.

LiYana received certification as a Holistic Health Counselor from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance, and a Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Patterning through NLP Marin. She has taught business coaching to entrepreneurs and small business owners, in private practice and also through the Golden Gate School of Feng Shui in California and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York.

Although a fresh voice for redefining relationships for the 21st Century, LiYana has had the great fortune to study with and stand on the shoulders of many a great ancestor. LiYana’s background includes training and in-depth study in holistic nutrition and wellness, Vinyasa yoga, Vipassana mindfulness meditation, Re-Evaluation Counseling, child developmental psychology, Neo-Reichian and Neo-Freudian modalities, Neuro-Linguistic Patterning and the Family Systems work of Bert Hellinger. She pays grateful homage to the works of David Deida, Carl Buchheit and Michelle Masters of NLP Marin, Kassy Shecklehoff and all the teachers of Morehouse, Regena Thomashauer (aka Mama Gena), Riane Eisler, Dr. Patricia Taylor, Dr. Christiane Northrup, Joshua Rosenthal of Integrative Nutrition, Landmark Education, Osho, Dolano, Anthony Robbins and her own extraordinary parents.

On an intentional community in the mountains of northern New Mexico, LiYana was born “out of the box,” and was raised with liberal doses of critical thinking and creative encouragement. For the ten years prior to her work in the field of relationships and intimacy, LiYana was a professional modern dancer, throughout the US and Europe, most notably with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel and the Metropolitan Opera Ballet in New York City. She studied art in Siena, Italy and her oil paintings have been displayed upon gallery walls as far uptown as Lincoln Center and as far downtown as an East Village tattoo store. LiYana speaks fairly good Dutch and Italian as well as enough French to have a conversation about love, yet stay out of jail.

LiYana is deeply honored to be in an exquisite, passionate and magical relationship for over 8 years. A living work of art co-created with her husband, her relationship has served as workshop, laboratory, crucible and launching pad. And it keeps getting better and better each day. LiYana’s vastly varied experiences have served to clarify that intimate, love relationships are a powerful vehicle for full-throttle personal growth and a sacred opportunity to dance with the biggest flirt of all, the divine.
